Lorena Lapeña
Dance Coach & Holistic Movement Educator
My journey began as a professional dancer, where I discovered not only a passion for movement, but also a deep curiosity about the human being behind the performer. Throughout my career, I realised that true growth in dance comes from developing the whole person—body, mind and emotions—not just technique.
Driven by this belief, I completed a university degree in Dance Pedagogy and have continued expanding my education in a wide range of disciplines to gain a deeper understanding of learning, performance, wellbeing and human development.
Over the years, I have completed many different professional trainings. The qualifications listed below are those most closely related to my work within this academy and my approach to teaching and coaching.
These include Transpersonal Psychology, Coaching and Counselling, Positive Psychology, Ericksonian Hypnosis, relaxation and meditation techniques, together with movement disciplines such as Mat and Reformer Pilates, Yoga, muscular chain stretching, hypopressive training, Rebirthing, NeuroBiodanza, and other somatic approaches.
I have also trained in complementary manual therapies including Craniosacral Therapy, Ayurvedic Massage and Kinesiology, which have further enriched my understanding of the connection between movement, the nervous system, emotions and overall wellbeing.
Whether I am coaching competitive dancers, teaching children taking their first steps in dance, or working with adults, my goal is always the same: to create a supportive environment where every student feels safe, confident and inspired to discover their full potential.
I believe that technical excellence grows naturally when it is supported by body awareness, emotional resilience, confidence, discipline and joy. My teaching combines high standards with empathy, encouraging each dancer to develop not only as an artist but also as a person.
For me, dance is much more than movement—it is a powerful tool for self-expression, personal growth and lifelong wellbeing. It is a privilege to accompany each student on their own unique journey.
